I've got a bad feeling about this...

Alderaan or Bust!
Graveyard or Graveyards

Having soundly accomplished the job on Ryloth, the crew of the PROFITABLE VENTURE makes their way to Alderaan.
The crew picks up some cargo at Tyin Station from a Bothan dealer named Huff and continues on their way along the Corellian Run. Shortly before arriving at the crossroads of the Corellian Run and the Hydian Way, they PROFITABLE VENTURE is violently yanked from Hyperspace and collides with a tie fighter, in the midst of a battle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance.

Start your Motivators

Having fully discussed comics and decided not to go see Ultron, we immediately got down to business.

That business was “how to spend two hours stumbling lamely around trying to find an action to take”.

Despite that well mapped out strategy, Dr. Siiv set off on his own to trade his stash of illegal drugs for legal ones. He was successful. Unfortunately he was successful in the moments before a couple of storm troopers busted the merchant and Dr. Siiv and Nurse-Zombie Dani were arrested.

Waking from a drunken stupor, Cam left our temporary lodgings and ran into the storm troopers escorting their prisoners to the garrison building. Thinking fast, Cam reported seeing rebels plotting in and alley and led the whole group in a tour of Mos Eisley’s back streets.

Cam’s skillful use of an open comm, allowed Derek and Hunter to see up and ambush. Derek showed amazing skill concealing himself only to turn and find Hunter standing in the open alley waiting for the storm troopers. Moments later, the storm troopers and their prisoners came around the corner. One of them yell “that must be the rebels!” and pointed at Cam. Hunter drew both his blasters and shot each trooper in the head and the fight was over. Cam released the prisoners. Dr. Siiv made sure the merchant got his fairly traded for drugs and sent the merchant on his way.

Taking advantage of the available storm trooper armor – after a bit of cosmetic repair to the helmets, Cam and Derek strolled into the bar where the air speeder racers were bragging about their chances in tomorrows big race. The arrested racer Steve Kenobi and his co pilot for possession of Glitter Stim, “found” the evidence in their pockets and marched the pair out of the bar. Kenobi and his co-pilot soon found themselves drugged unconsious and left in a cheap motel for 24 hours.

Completely unrelated, Derek Starchaser, famed winner of the Corellian Derby, turned up a short while later at the racer bar and offered to fill Stev Kenobi’s now vacant slot in the race the next day. A late entry with no air speeder racing experience, at least one bookie was willing to take bets on Starchaser at 2-1 odds. Not a bookie, Derek could find, but Hunter placed bets for the party.

Through a thrilled, edge of your seat display of game mechanics and mysterious die-rolling, Derek and co-pilot Cam were able snatch victory for the jaws of something besides victory to win the race.

A Stern Chase is a Long Chase
(not so long, after all

Thanks to Dan for writing up the summary. Here it goes:

We got the Gilded Sparrow back and caught Bin, Ghost and Company (including Tam).

Captain Hammer and Chub flew off to the Wheel (it’s around) to deliver the Rebel medical supplies (and keep them off screen with their players away).

Everyone else delivered Bin and Ghost to Jabba, who dropped them into his sometimes rancor pit. At this time it has what appeared to be cybernettically enhanced nexu fulfilling the “eat the prisoners” role. We saw Bin and Ghost die. Cam successfully negotiated payment and a “let’s call it even” status with Jabba where the party is walking away with something over 100,000 credits, I believe.

Dr. Siiv removed all the implants from the Ugnaught, performed medical procedures on him (he swears they were beneficial and not the hideous torture they sounded like) and disposed of the body on Tatooine. I believe he claimed that despite his best efforts, the poor creature did not pull through.

The Trandosian merc working for Bin gave up in exchange for a promise of being released once the rest of Bin’s team was down. We let him go on Narshadaa with his weapon and other possessions with no hard feelings.

Cam released his cousin Tam on Narshadaa immediately before we left. Cam told his cousin to go away and get over the stupid bitch and not come back. Both Derek and Kabrana have promised to kill Tam if they see him again because of his betrayal. (To me this seems to go beyond the spirit of friendly betrayal we see in Star Wars with Han and Lando where the sentiment is more of a “I’ll come out on top next time” and “okay, we can work together but I don’t trust you” in the smuggler community. I’d much rather hear the story of how the party left Tam naked and creditless on that Ugnaught freighter after the next time we encounter him. It’s more fun and you get to have recurring characters.)

Somewhere in the middle there was a fire fight in our (Jabba’s) cargo bay when we brought the escape pod with Bin’s team aboard. We won. Dr. Mengela, I mean Siiv, patched up Cam and Hunter.

Nar Shadda Nights

Nar Shadda Nights

Just a brief overview of what happened during the session yesterday.

The captured Weequay, named Dinni Torva , is a member of Jasko’s Alphas. They are a small to medium-sized pirating operation in the Hutt sector.

Dinni gave the party the frequency for his cousin, Fizo, who is in the Pirate crew also.

The party was invited to the Darklands (lowest level on Nar Shadda) to make the exchange, but after some back and forth, the Meltdown Cafe in the Corellian Sector was selected.

Since there was some time to kill before the meeting, some of the party went to stake out the Meltdown Cafe, while Kebrana worked on fixing the ship and Tam went shopping.

Four Weequay and four Ganks showed up to the Cafe a short time before the scheduled meeting. Tam never showed up for the meeting, so when Jasko, Fizo and Hunter showed up for the meeting, the party was a little unsure about who would be doing the negotiating. Siiv took the lead and promptly started offering everything to the pirates except your current vessel. Recognizing a way out of his situation, Hunter inserted himself into the negotiation and worked a deal to get out of his contract with the pirates and help the Party locate Ghost. In the end, the pirates got Dinni and their Cloakshape fighter back and they had to deliver 2 proton torpedoes, let Hunter out of his contract and pay for the drinks at the Meltdown Cafe.

Hunter and Siiv had actually attended medical school together and have some familiarity with each other. Hunter was familiar two of Ghost’s hangouts where he would pick up Glitterstim. Hunter led the group down to the Heartache Bistro in the Red Light Sector, but first you had to go through the Old Duros Sector. When you were approaching the Turbolift, Chub noticed that the party had picked up a tail. A Rodian and an armed Security-type droid were following the party. Everyone except Chub took the turbolift down to the Old Duros Sector. The Rodian and droid followed down with Chub securing himself to the top of the turbolift. The party confronted them when the turbolift doors opened. When Chub surprised everyone by dropping down behind the bounty hunters, Hunter drew his pistol (very quickly) and a firefight ensued. The fight drew the attention of a small pack of Vribithers (spiked crocodile monsters) and they attacked Zarmaloff who had been in settled into an sniping/overwatch position quite a ways from the rest of the party.
After a bit of exchanged fire, the droid was cut down, the Rodian incapacitated and the vribithers were turned into luggage.

Siiv patched up the injured crew and on to the Red Light Sector you went.
The Heartache Bistro is the gem of the Red Light Sector. It features an enormous, high-end restaurant on the first floor and a bustling multi-story night club above. After searching the nightclub, a Defel was found but it was not “”/characters/ghost" class=“wiki-content-link”>Ghost". It was, however, a highly inebriated cousin of Ghost who was happy to share with Zarmaloff that Ghost had been there earlier and left. He also demonstrated a cool floating beer bottle parlor trick. Kebrana and Siiv shared a prostitute while also hacking into the security system and reviewed some video footage that confirmed Ghost had been there and made a transaction.

So back to the Corellian Sector and to the Slag Pit you went. After some bribery, Odrell, the Pau’an owner of the bar, told you that Ghost had been there earlier. From the timeline, it seems like he had gone there first and then to the Heartache Bistro. You also found out that Tam had been there looking for him and he had Bin with him. They seemed to be in a hurry.

The party then went back to your docking bay so that Kebrana could search the port’s system for records of YV-560’s being docked recently. There were two on record with one that had departed just minutes before. Derek and Kebrana hopped into Derek’s Y-Wing in hopes to intercept them before they made the jump to hyperspace.
Derek pushed the limits of the Y-Wing and decided to go in the direction of the forbidden Pabol Hutta (a hyperlane that goes deeper into Hutt territory and through the area that hosts the Hutt Throneworlds).

The scanners spot something ahead and then they see the Gilded Sparrow ahead of them…
